Minions On My Nails. BANANAAAA!

MyEm0.Com
Hello, sweeties!

I've been M.I.A. lately because of school; I'm trying to control and discipline myself especially when it comes to Facebook-ing and basically anything in the cyberworld. You know how it is, guys, right? The web is a black hole that sucks you deep in -- without you even noticing. So yeah, I super-minimize my internet use on weekdays and just catch-up on weekends.

Anyways, that's the reason why this post is already two weeks late. I made & wore this nail design two weeks ago when I was kind of in a need to relieve some stress and thinkings. I was originally planning to try to make a creative and uncommon French Manicure, but I decided to do this instead.

Come and sing with me now. 5-6-7-8!
BA-BA-BA BA-BANANA,  BA-BA-BA BA-BANANA
BANANAAAAAAAAAA! POTATO-NAAAAAAAA!

They really served their purpose -- relieve me of stress. Everytime I look at my nails, there would be this certain explosion of fun and happiness, so it really helped. Plus, I got a lot of compliments from my friends and even from strangers! Guards, fastfood cashier, registration assistants, and basically just anyone! I bet my nails loved all the attention they got. :))

Moving on, I know this is just tooooo cute so I would like to share with you a quick tutorial on how to do it. Sorry if I couldn't manage to do video tutorials yet, but I'd try to make time for it, okay? ;)

STEP 1:
Clean your nails & shape them any way you want. I shaped my nails squoval since I thought it would be best for the minions' body. Afterwards, apply a base coat/nail hardener (NOTE: this is important to avoid having your nails stained, and of course so you could protect them).

STEP 2:
Apply a bright lemon yellow polish. I, however, didn't have such color of nail polish so I just used an acrylic paint of the same hue.

STEP 3:
Paint the tips with blue polish or acrylic paint, and then stripe some black paint across (to serve as the goggles' strap).

STEP 4:
Draw the details! :D
Sorry if I wasn't able to take photos of the nitty-gritty details -- I FORGOT! I was so focused on drawing 'em, that's why. I was just using a standard watercolor brush because I don't have nail art brushes yet, so it's really hard especially when drawing small details such as the teeth and stuff.

STEP 5:
FLAUNT YOUR NAILS AND MAKE EVERYONE SING BANANAAA! :)
Here are more photos (because I just couldn't get enough of 'em):

Like it? :)
Let me know when you get to try your own Minions Nails, okay?

Love lots,
